This little rug makes me smile every morning
The colors are true to the picture and it is perfectly crafted. It is so soft that it puts a big smile on my face every morning when I get out of bed and again at night. I absolutely love it! Thank you!
Exactly What I Wanted
My girlfriend and I moved from New Jersey to Sedona 8 months ago. We are in the process of decorating in a manner that is southwestern without being cliche, without being cartoonish. We looked at Zapotec rugs in local stores. They were what we were looking for in the way of rugs. I was prepared to pay the high price they were asking, but we didnt find exactly what we wanted. Then I happened on Novica, had never heard of this site, and found exactly what I wanted, for much less money, and a lot more of that money going to the artisan. This piece by Gregorio Ruiz is simply superb!
Gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous!
The red version of this rug doesnt begin to match the picture tonalities. The rug is so exquisite and vibrant I want more offerings in larger sizes. As soon as I laid the rug beside my bed my cat was in complete disbelief, Really, this is for me? She loves it. This is a spectacular piece of art--please consider making a 4x6 and 5x 8 size.

Artisan Crafted Animal Themed Wool Area Rug, "Maya Bird at Dusk"$132.99

Zapotec wool rug (2.5x5.5), "Star Flowers"$184.99
With petals like stars, wildflowers bloom in gentle pastels, covering the hillsides with summer beauty. Browns, greens, yellow and pale grey mingle with beige and navy blue. Neatly woven by hand in virgin wool, the elegant motifs grace a traditional Mexican rug. Gregorio Ruiz Lopez works on the handloom to create designs his father taught him. Titled "Diamantes zapotecas" in Spanish, this rug features lush fringe.
Because each rug is individually woven, measurements could vary +/- 2 inches (5 cm).
