Shaped of terracotta and painted by hand, the sun and moon embrace in an eclipse. Jose Arriola crafts a set of six ornaments in bright tropical colors and covers them with birds and flowers. The ornaments arrive in a bag of handwoven cotton.

"Amazing"
I just adore these birds. I have an iron structured tree I brought at an antique sale. Wanted something special to display on the branches; these birds are the perfect accent needed. Will like to view more of his items. Thanks for such wonderful craftmanship.

"This now has an important place on Mom's table!"
My parents love art and love their Siamese cats! This was the perfect Christmas gift for them. My mom has placed one of her many succulents in the "kitty-pot" as she calls it, and it is part of her table centerpiece. My dad says it reminds him of a feline Frida Kahlo! They are both enjoying it, and it brings smiles every day!

"Very cute, although one was missing the loop"
One of these six birds arrived missing the loop but thats not on the artist and I just used some nylon thread that I had to hang it. The birbs themselves are very cute little chonkers.

Jose creates the most beautiful ceramic ornaments and figurines. His family has lived in Antigua for more than 100 years and he takes great pride in practicing the same ceramic techniques his ancestors used. He wishes to help this tradition continue and he teaches anyone in his community who has an interest in learning.

Jose Arriola has received 7 microcredit loans with 0% interest from Kiva and Novica, the first for $450 and the most recent for $2550. Proceeds were used to purchase paints and materials for his ceramics to continue production.
