The artisan comes from an artistic family — his father was a noted sculptor and his mother worked in clay. Both had workshops in the family home, but Jose was drawn to his mother's work.

“Adorab le angels! One to keep and one for a gift”

These are adorable. The skin color on the set I received was darker than I expected, so the gift went to a different friend than originally intended. Joses work never disappoints. I have purchased many ornaments to give as gifts.

Jose creates the most beautiful ceramic ornaments and figurines. His family has lived in Antigua for more than 100 years and he takes great pride in practicing the same ceramic techniques his ancestors used. He wishes to help this tradition continue and he teaches anyone in his community who has an interest in learning.

Microcredit Financing
