A gentle hummingbird nudges the reader's attention toward the next page until it's time for a break; the perfect time to use this bookmark. Inspired by artist Pedro Linares' alebrije style, husband and wife team Pablo and Lucy Mendez hand-carve and paint this hummingbird-themed bookmark using traditional copal wood, native to their region of Mexico. For generations, the Mendez family has been transforming bare wood into imaginative representations of an animal-led utopia. Even after years of producing crafts in this style, Pablo and Lucy continue to marvel at the metamorphosis of conceptual designs into something they can see and feel.

“Absolutely perfect addition to my lighted branch tree”

I bought a lighted bare branch tree from a major retailer this Christmas. This beautiful ornament hangs perfectly and can be seen all the way around. It is such a colorful addition to this new tree. I hope to buy more next holiday season.
