“Beauty in every detail!”

I love Oaxacan wood carvings or alebrijes. The magical creations invoke a sense of whimsey and fantasy for me. Thank goodness it is not a lost art but finding quality ones is. I am so thankful to find this website and Pablo and Lucy Mendez. I truly believe in the mission of Novica in supporting local artisans. The Azure Pegasus was true to the photos from the colors and the fine details that I expect in an alebrijes. Each of the tail pieces were taped in order of assembly and marked with a label not to throw out because there were small pieces. The item was meticulously packaged and arrived in perfect condition. I wish I could capture a better picture to show everyone the beauty of the piece but a picture could never convey its grandure. Thank you to Novica in connecting me to an artist that I probably would have never met and their art. I am so grateful.
