This mysterious cat intensifies the storyline of each literary journey, always foreshadowing the end of each chapter and closing of the book. A story on its own, this alebrije cat originates from a dream - that of Pablo and Lucy Mendez, who themselves are inspired by the dream of a preceding artist, Pedro Linares who imagines an animal-based world apart. Working with wood that regenerates from their copal tree plantations, Mexican artisans Pablo and Lucy create this feline-themed bookmark using techniques they learned from their parents, aunts and uncles.
