An icon of southern Mexico's diverse flying fauna, the quetzal makes a prominent appearance on this handcrafted bookmark from the Mendez family. Husband and wife artisans, Pablo and Lucy create this quetzal-inspired bookmark with meticulously perfected crafting techniques, always investing their hearts into the art from the initial design stage to the final stroke of the paintbrush. Composed to last as long as the traditions it represents, this bookmark comes from a single piece of native copal wood, replenished by the Mendez family plantation of copal trees.

I have several of these bookmarks on hand to give as gifts along with books for the young people in my life. Beautiful little pieces of art, they are sturdy, and also bright enough not to be misplaced. A couple also reside in my art room, peeking brightly out of a glass jar. Highly recommend!
