Delivery EstimateInspired by the artistic traditions of the Moche people, Walter Jose Acosta crafts a handsome huaco sculpture of a warrior. Huacos were crafted to make a portrait of somebody famous, like this warrior with an eagle headdress to symbolize his reverence for nature. Eagles, amongst other Andean birds, represented power. The ceramic sculpture is crafted by hand and treated to a specialized finish to create an antique illusion.

Much more impressive in person. This serves as the centerpiece of my Peruvian collection.

A most famous Moche stirrup vessel at the Larco Herrera museum in Lima is now available to anyone since Walter Acosta applied his talents in making a replica. Correct clay and thickness, exact detail of artwork and paint used. Special aging process is unheard of. I have seen many replicas since 1975 but this appears ancient original. Professional packing & Shipping. Thanks to Senor Acosta and NOVICA. Michael Garland, Lake Stevens, Washington USA
