100% alpaca shoulder bag, 'Mists of Cusco'
By Cathleen
Authenitc from Cusco
I just got back from Cusco, Peru. I bought beautiful pillow covers but wanted a few more authentic handwoven items. I KNOW this purse is authentic, and it is well made. I visited weaving cooperatives and recognize the natural colors and designs. It has a sturdy lining and a nice inside pocket with zipper. I use it for my everyday purse, I like the size. I dont like a big purse. It is important to me that the weavers of the Peruvian Andes get support to continue weaving. Tourists have not returned to this area and these traditions will be lost. Plus it is a beautiful purse with rich colors.
Cotton blend coin purse, 'Andean Sunshine'
Another Charmer by Balvina Huaytalla
I found myself drawn to the meticulous detail in the zippered bags and coin purses by this artist. I chose to purchase several for gifts for some special people, including this one with a young Peruvian tending her animals. I also appreciate that this coin purse came with free gift wrap that includes a tiny worry doll adorning the ribbon bow. I now have a practical attractive gift that I know will be appreciated.
Leather sling, 'Tumi Cosmovision'

A Handbag With Ancient Symbols, a Must!
When I saw this handbag with the pre-Hispanic symbols, I knew that I wanted one. Then when I looked at the close views of the workmanship, I was sold. When I received the handbag, I knew that I had made a great choice. The leather tooling is outstanding and the bag is very well made. The shoulder strap is very long so I will probably have it shortened by a leather craftsman from my area. I havent decided yet.
