Akua'ba are fertility dolls popular in the South of Ghana and the most commonly known are the Fanti people's dolls that feature prominent round heads. Ghanaian artisan Abdul Aziz Mohamadu designs a stunning fertility doll painted and carved by hand from sese wood.

A xevi ("bird" in the Ewe language) poses on the head of this stunning mask exuding an admirable sense of strength and power. From Akoma of West Africa, the mask is carved by hand of sese wood and features tribal markings on the cheeks.

Anabiah, meaning “royal” in the ancient Ghanaian language, is the title of a sublime creation crafted by Victor Ayambire. Drawing inspiration from his culture and tradition, the artisan creates this stunning African mask from sese wood, adding aluminum plates that complement its classic style. Painting each detail by hand, the artisan enhances the bird motif at the top with vibrant hues, symbolizing fertility.

Ghanaian designer Musah Abdallah works with a local artisan who skillfully crafts his brilliant design from local sese wood using hand tools. Intricate, eye-catching patterns feature heavily on the brass plate that adorns the front of the face, and two stunning wooden horns protrude forcefully from the top. A blue bird with aluminum eyes dances joyfully on top of the mask's head, showing off the lovely pattern on his back. The artisan paints the mask by hand, completing the intriguing design with a distressed look.

Named Mirembe, which means "peace" in the Ganda language, this mask presented on a stand gazes out boldly at the viewer. Saeed Musah of West Africa presents this stunning mask, accented by brass plates and vibrant patterns that are crafted from recycled glass beads.
