Festive colors obtained from natural dyes bring to life traditional Zapotec glyphs in a runner rug by Irene Ruiz. She prepares the dyes herself, using cochineal for the red to pink spectrum, and walnut for browns. Ruiz weaves the wool rug on a pedal loom in the tradition of Teotitlán del Valle, Oaxaca.
