Wood mask, "Dolphin Bondres"
Wayan Rendah expresses concern for the environment through the uniqueness of his art. He carves the mask from suar wood, expertly showcasing the wood's natural grain. The mask features a dolphin swimming through algae that shape a bondres mask. A traditional mask for theater performances, the bondres is a like a jester that appears in a play to relieve the tension and drama of the story.
