Inspired by the Ewe people of Ghana, Christian Kewsi Tawiah designs and hand-carves two Ibeji sculptures of sese wood that depict a brother and sister. He accents the sculptures with jewelry made from petite recycled glass beads. Sculptures like these are traditionally given to the parents or sibling of a twin who has died, as twins are believed to have magical properties.
