“I am Gerald Novisi Asamoah Bansah, born in Accra; and I am a painter. I am hardworking, committed, and a serious time manager--I don't joke with my time at all. I was born to Madam Rosina Ellen Ofori, who was a trader, and my dad who is now deceased, Mr. Samuel Kojo Asasmaoh. We are 4 siblings and I was the last born. We all lived together as a family in Accra. My parents did well to imbue Christian values into us; that is, my siblings and I. We were all put through school. I attended the Ghanatta College of Art after my junior high school education. I attended the Ghanatta because of my advanced talent in art. Painting has always been my passion, even though I had a formal education in art.
“After 4 years I graduated from Ghanatta, where I studied still life, nature drawing and textile designs. I was a student who paid attention to my teachers, and so I was successful. After I graduated from Ghanatta College I went to learn some more painting techniques from a fellow painter. I later established myself and created art on my own. I do a lot of graphic design on a commercial basis. I use canvas and acrylic paints. My inspiration is from my environment.
“Having attended a lot of art shows and concerts, I have built a network of friends; and that was how I got introduced to Novica. My goal is to refresh my portfolio with new and exciting artworks.”
