Details

An abstract river landscape where the water is surrounded by trees captures the eye and conveys a sensation of tranquility. Ghanaian artist Samuel Ashong relies on batik techniques to fill cotton with a blue, black, yellow and green palette. The striking landscape features a cardstock mat and is ready for framing.

"This is my daughter's title for this work," the artist confides. "She made reference to warmth of colors, especially the sea and the waves, which represent happiness."

"Beautiful Batik"

The art is beautiful and will be a great addition to our home. The packaging did protect the batik, but the matting is creased on one entire short end.

"treasure from Africa"

I made one African wall in my hallway. I have been to Africa many times, but I could not return with anything big...I love this picture of the women at the market in West Africa. It has modern and primitive elements as I see it, and it goes well with my other artifacts.
