Born in West Bengal in 1960, Somenath Maity studied at the College of Visual Art and completed a diploma course in Fine Art from the Indian College of Art in Kolkata. The award-winning artist has exhibited his work in Indian cities as well as in Germany, Sweden and the UK.

“modern, natural, serene”

This print has a striking, modern look, with dark branches in contrast to the lovely colors in the background. It gives me that serene feeling of lying on my back looking up into the trees. I liked being able to order the canvas unstretched for ease/economy of shipping - I just took it to my local frame shop to have it stretched and its hanging in my dining room.
