A solitary bird, the kingfisher flaunts colorful feathers. César Gonzáles sculpts the bird in serpentine, jasper and sodalite. White onyx forms the tail, while black onyx becomes the long, stout beak. Aragonite, chrysocolla and jasper complete the sculpture. Known in Peru as a martin pescador (fishing martin), the bird perches on a tree trunk with bronze feet.
