The Molinari Family are a group of Italian artisans who craft masterful pieces of art glass in Brazil. They employ Murano-style techniques when crafting this vase by hand with elegant petal shapes adorning the rim and tiny effervescent bubbles dancing across the entire vessel. They add pigments of blue and yellow for a beautiful two-tone design that creates a fantastical image.
Antonio Carlos and his brother, Paulo Molinari, learned the ancient hand-blown glass technique as apprentices of the Italian master, Aldo Bonora, who came to Brazil from Murano Island. After eight years, they opened their own workshop in 1962. Considered among the most brilliant and talented hand-blown glass makers in the country, they have trained a number of glass artisans and have formed masters that have worked with them for more than 30 years.
More than fifty years ago, Antonio Carlos and Paulo Molinari set up their workshop with a small group of artisans. Today they have more than 100 artisans and more than 10 family members working with them.
This artist is an elder master and continues to actively practice their craft.
