Guatemalan artisan Elias Garcia crafts this colorful mobile from hand-painted palo blanco and handcrafted Guatemalan worry dolls made by his sister Aura. Each doll features a unique handwoven dress in a rainbow of gold, scarlet, spring green, fuchsia, and turquoise tones.
Quitapenas or "worry dolls" represent Ixmucane, a princess who was gifted with infinite wisdom. Children are instructed to confide all of their worries to their quitapenas and then place them underneath their pillow at night. The dolls are thought to impart their wisdom to them while they sleep and so that in the morning they'll wake up knowing what to do.

I have a Guardian Angel friend who is always there for me, for her husband, her family, her church .... She is pure goodness and is unstoppable. This was perfect to give her. I would keep these in stock ... and do keep a couple on hand, because of the cultural value that sets it aside from average gifts, the beauty and sweetness of the wreath, and the quality. I love it, and I love NOVICA and all Elias does. Even through rough times of my own, these bring joy. Thank you for never disappointing!
