"Seven gems, one for each day of the week. None of the stones are alike, just like we never experience each day exactly the same as the day before," say Ruben and Gilda Perez of their ring design. They work with Guatemalan jade in seven different shades, from very light green to dark green and black. The gems can be positioned as desired along the set of seven sterling silver rings that are held in place by a discreet bar.

“A unique and fun ring!”

I was intrigued by the description of this ring and wanted a jade ring to go with other jade jewelry. It arrived early on my birthday, which was also a plus! When I first tried it on, it seemed a little loose even tho I ordered my correct size. I re-arranged the rings a couple of times to see the different looks and found one I really like that fits well. It has so many colors of jade that it goes with all my other pieces. I do have one question for the creator(s) of it. I am wondering if the jade balls are secured by soldered silver post and glue, or just glue. It would make a difference to the wearability of the ring for me.

“Beautiful Workmanship”

This ring is beautiful! The individual bands are thinner than I expected which give it a more delicate feel which I really like. I was concerned that when I placed the jade balls at a diagonal the end balls might go between my fingers causing discomfort but this wasn?t the case. I would definitely recommend this ring.

“A beautiful and unique ring”

Beautiful, unique, and a little bit fun since the individual bands will shift around and rearrange the alignment of the stones. This was a special gift to my wife from her Aikido students, in recognition of her recent promotion to 7th degree black belt. The actual ring size ended up fitting her better than the recommended one-size-larger ring. Most importantly, she loves it!

Working with Disabilities

One of Ruben and Gilda's assistants was in a motorcycle accident several years ago. He injured his foot, which left him without a job. Ruben and Gilda have hired this man with pride as he is a hard worker and a great asset to their team.

Preserving Traditions

Ruben and Gilda's parents taught them the value of hard work and that art is an expression of culture. Many of their designs include jade, which was highly valued by ancient civilizations in the area and used as ornaments, tools, and burial artifacts. Their artwork is often a reflection of Guatemalan culture and they used techniques passed down over generations.

Moving On Up

Thanks to their hard work and partnership with NOVICA, Ruben and Gilda have been able to build their own house and support their children's education. They hope to continue to grow their sales through NOVICA so they do not have to seek out other, more complicated markets.
