An inviting smile brings to life this heart-shaped mask, traditionally worn on festive occasions by the Ogowe people of Gabon. Evans Doe Martey carves a remarkable sese wood replica, which he embellishes with beads and a jute beard.

"Engagement Gift"

I gave this to my son and his fiance when they became engaged. They love African art and I wanted them to have a reminder to love each other. It is a beautifully carved mask that isnt overpowering, only inspiring.
