Wearing a headdress made from colorful, handwoven raffia fiber, this African mask is created by Abdul Aziz Mohamadu. He hand-carves the mask from a single piece of sese wood, accented with colorful beads of recycled plastic. This mask is named Akuchinyere, which means "wealth has come" in the Igbo language of Nigeria.

Beautiful, unusual mask! I have a lot of masks in my collection, but this is the first mask that combined a wooden carved mask with a very colorful, handwoven raffia fiber head piece. I havent seen anything like this. It will look fantastic hanging on my wall. Truly an artist at what he does!

The woven headdress really sets this mask apart from others. The head portion is small so make sure to look at the product dimensions.
