African Wood Mask in Red with Embossed Aluminum from Ghana, "Red Chukwueliegwe"
Ghanaian artisan Abdul Aziz Mohamadu creates this African mask, which is hand-carved from a single piece of sese wood and given a red painted finish. Accents of hand-embossed aluminum on the forehead and cheeks evoke traditional scarification practices. This mask is named Chukwueliegwe, meaning "awesome" in the Igbo language of Nigeria.

"Beautiful , captivating and colorful."

"Medo"
I have bought at least 25 wall masks from Novica and all have been beautiful until today. I received my Medo mask and I am very unhappy. The quality is inferior. In fact I would not waste any more money by shipping it back to the supplier. Ginger Hagberg

Job Creator
Abdul has a dream of establishing an art academy for carving and sharing the African culture that is so closely tied to wood carving. So far, he has trained over 30 people but hopes that number can grow to be in the hundreds with an academy.
