African King Wall Mask Crafted with Wood Aluminum and Brass, "Powerful Ohene"
This mask of a powerful visage personifies an Akan Ohene (King) in an original design by Ghana's Abdul Aziz Mohamadu. He works with seasoned sese wood, carving the wall mask by hand and decorating it with regal accents embossed in aluminum to shape a crown, and in brass on the face to resemble tribal markings. The headdress, eyes and lips are painted reddish-brown.

"Distinctive mask"

"Beautiful , captivating and colorful."
Ive been a collector of african masks for many years. This mask was irresistible for me as are all of Abduls work. He is exceptional and prolific, one artist that I admire greatly. So proud to have this inspiring mask on my wall. Thank you Abdul for all that you do.

Job Creator
Abdul has a dream of establishing an art academy for carving and sharing the African culture that is so closely tied to wood carving. So far, he has trained over 30 people but hopes that number can grow to be in the hundreds with an academy.
