Identical twins in blue and white carry calabash gourds. Exalting their similarities, Prince Dewodo portrays the pair in vivid colors. "In some of our villages in Ghana, at every rainy season when the first rain falls, virgin twins are first of all sent to the stream to bring water to the king's palace. It is said that by doing so, the water is cleansed from sickness and diseases. Many have lived and died in these villages, but most have left no footprint on the sands of time. A few, however, have influenced the course of history. Without question, this tradition has enabled many villages to enjoy better health," the artist says.
