The small area around the carnelian stone is matted to set off the stone to good effect; where as, the remaining silver has finish with shine to reflect light. Even more beautiful than the photo!

What you can't see on the photo is the 3-dimensional aspect of this pendant. The silver side and the copper side are both on a 90-degree angle. This is absolutely gorgeous! I liked it when I thought is was 'flat'. I'm thrilled with the 3-dimensions!
