Working together to preserve their country's weaving traditions, the Women United for Artisan Development craft a magnificent table runner. The striped runner is woven on waist looms of pure cotton in a rainbow of colors. The artisans comment, "The blue color represents Guatemala, as it is the color of our flag; and the many other colors represent the Guatemalan peoples". Braided fringe completes the runner at both ends.

Combining a warm expanse of sapphire blue with ivory threads, Olga Jimenez weaves an elegant cotton table runner. Rich macramé fringe and tassels adorn each end. In use since pre-Hispanic times, the backstrap loom is still used by some dedicated artisans today in Mexico.
