Carved from albesia wood, this fascinating sculpture depicts two men carrying tedung, the ceremonial umbrellas used in Balinese Hindu temples. Anak Agung Ary crafts the sculpture from albesia wood and paints it by hand with an antiqued finish.

In Balinese culture, Tri Kaya Parisudha is a philosophy that promotes positive thoughts, words and deeds, composed by three purified actions known as Manacika, Wacika and Kayika. Artisans from the Subrata Family in Indonesia carve and paint by hand a compelling suar wood sculpture of a man practicing Manacika and looking to achieve harmony and peace in life by the power of positive thinking.

"Positive thinking helps people do right and speak the truth. Positive and right thinking are the way to a harmonious life. With right and positive thinking, our behavior will be good and positive, including with our words. If all of creation thinks positively and does right, the world will be peaceful and not have more war, violence, or conflict, and so we will all prosper," say the artisans.

This charming little dove brings a wonderful joy to any home, hand-carved of locally-collected Balinese suar wood. Wayan Agus Satya Putra designs this sculpture, working with local artisans to give it a painted, antiqued finish for added character.

Hand carved from crocodile wood, this sculpture of Buddha exudes peace and tranquility. Sitting atop a lotus leaf, the master's raised hand takes the shape of the Vitarka mudra, representing the benefits of teaching and learning. Presented by Indonesian artist Gung Gus, the sculpture features floral and songbird motifs painted on the surface.

Buddha achieves a serene sense of inner peace within a pipal leaf in this sculpture from Bali. Togog Suyasa carves the albesia sculpture by hand with admirable realism, offering his art in reverence to the spiritual teacher. Suyasa finishes the sculpture with painted details and gilt applications. According to scripture, Buddha achieved enlightenment while meditating beneath the pipal tree, which became known as a bodhi, or "enlightened" tree.

Balinese artisan Aricadia paints an intriguing portrait of an expectant mother surrounded by gentle white doves, a symbol of peace. "Blue represents the sky and yellow is the grain of wheat that grows in the ground. All move as desired, without pollution and war. All went as desired without pollution and war. Just like the doves that welcome him where all babies will be born with cries of happiness, not sadness.

The Balinese artist creates an expressionist composition within the realm of the pointillist style. Every detail is created with vibrant colors. This painting suggests that all peace on Earth originates from the three main Hindu gods of Bali.

Titled "Khayangan Tiga Temple," which means "The Three Main Temples."
