This handpainted batik robe is a truly original work of art. Sunlight, water, dye and temperature all factor into the look of the finished robe. This should be considered a unique design made especially for you. Colors and pattern placement will vary.

"My little sister LOVES this robe!!"

"Beautiful Qaulity"
This robe was beautiful. I bought for my mother who loves suns she even wore it during the solar eclipse ha! perfect weight for summer and spring. The colors are even more stunning in person. Has lasted quite a few years at this point.

"Beautiful summer robe"
I loved the first robe I bought so I had to get another and this one is every bit as beautiful, well made and comfortable as the first. Now I have to find a few for gifts!

"My favorite sundress!"
Such lovely fabric with beautiful colors for this dress!!! I love that it has pockets. It is my most favorite go-to for the very warm summer weve had. Thank you Desak Nyoman Parwati! I will be ordering another one in different colors!

Preserving Traditions
For eleven years Desak worked with a batik artisan learning all aspects of the process, from wax painting to dyeing. From her, she learned not only the art of batik and textile design but also how to care for her workers. In her workshop, Desak and the older artisans generously teach their art to the younger artisans, preserving for another generation this UNESCO cultural treasure.

Desak Nyoman Parwati has received 3 microcredit loans with 0% interest from Kiva and Novica, the first for $2800 and the most recent for $4000. Proceeds were used to invest in the purchase of textiles and batik dyes to increase production in time for the holiday season.
