This peaceful scene of a West African village depicts huts and traditional pots among the palm trees. This wonderful one-of-a-kind cotton wall hanging is the work of Gladys Ayorkor Ayi, who uses time-honored batik techniques to create the artwork. Designs are painted on fabric with wax, and then the fabric is dyed to achieve the desired pattern. These steps are repeated with different colors until the scene is complete.
