The eye of Horus stares out into the world, in this sterling silver necklace from Pichaya. The eye of Horus is an ancient Egyptian symbol, traditionally used to represent sacrifice and healing. It tells the story of Horus, the falcon sky god whose eye was gouged by his brother Set, the god of the desert, who hoped to ascend the throne after the death of Osiris. Horus' eye was restored by Hathor, and Horus then gave it in sacrifice in order to resurrect his father and end the feud between himself and his brother.
