Signed Expressionist painting of a Mother and Child, "Sales I"

On her way to sell goods in the local market, a lone woman walks in this expressionist painting by Ghanaian artist Joseph Kobina Prah. He works in an expressionist style, using blue and red ink to depict the woman with a long, wavy form as she carries her child over her back. Says the artist, "Parenting in Africa is not an easy task for women. Nowadays, women have to work to support their husbands."
