Details

This authentic B-3 jacket became the military-issued cold-weather flight jacket in 1934, and it is still the warmest and most insulating bomber jacket made. Aviators in WWII bombers came to rely on their B-3 jackets as they often flew their missions over Europe in unpressurized cabins, where air temperatures could drop to more than 60 degrees below zero. Our B-3 is made from an amazingly soft and supple genuine sheepskin with a classic, aged look and deep-pile natural shearling along the body, sleeves, and collar. With double straps under the collar and straps at the waist that cinch to adjust the fit and keep out wind. Traditional leather welted seams and side-entry pockets are authentic details from the original.

"authentic B-3 jacket "

A bit heavy but understandable as it is an authentic vintage leather jacket. It rather warm, good for outdoor less for city trips. Very cosy to use when driving motorcycle or cabrio. Always wanted one as I admire the US Air Force.

"Low Quality"

Pros: the jacket has a nice design, warm and very soft interior wool/shearling lining. Con: The leather is of poor quality, very thin (so it will be easily damaged or punctured), extremely stiff. I've had over 30 leather jackets of varying costs and quality, and for the price, the leather on this jacket should be soft, pliable, thicker than 2-3 mm. The leather feels like it could easily crack as well, meaning it was chemically treated with low cost chemicals/dye. I should have listened to the 2 negative reviews, but I ordered the jacket because of the 10+ good reviews. I can only deduce that those good reviews are from customers who have not felt what quality leather/ sheepskin should feel like. Very disappointed and surprised that National Geographic would sell this product on their catalog.

"Excellent quality and construction."

I purchased this for my husband after buying to slightly inferior quality jackets from a rival brand and what a difference in workmanship. The leather is beautiful and shearling plush and deep. It is very soft and warm. Husband has worn this out in 20f weather with just a t shirt underneath...yes a T shirt and still felt warm and toasty. Is it a little on the expensive side? Yes, but worth the investment and american made. The other two I bought before were imported from another country and poorer quality. Shipping was also prompt.

"Simply extraordinary quality!"

This is simply a CLASSIC and beautifully designed coat. When comparing several different purchase options (catalogues, etc) this bomber came in as one of the more expensive ones available.... However the quality and authenticity are far and away the best of ANY I have looked at. I am so glad I paid the higher price for this once in a lifetime coat, and I'll enjoy it for many years..... It's just that incredible!

"B-3 flightjacket"

Sleeves a little short with arm down but just perfect for riding with my handle bars. They fit down over the tops of my gloves.

"B-3 Flight Jacket - take 2"

It's now spring, and I'm actually sad to pack away this jacket! I can honestly say that whenever - and I mean whenever - I wore this jacket, I received at least two compliments on it. Not that I felt entirely comfortable with all the attention. Check out the movie "The War Lover" with Steve McQueen and Robert Wagner. They're all wearing this jacket!

"This jacket was what I hoped it would be"

If you usually fit into large shirts, sweaters, and coats, consider ordering an XL in this size. I ordered the L and when it arrived and I tried it for fit, I found it to be tight and constraining. I exchanged it for an XL, and am very satisfied. My Dad wore one of these jackets on 35 missions over Germany as the pilot of a B-17G "Solid Sender", 423rd Squadron, 306th Bomb Group. I feel his presence when I wear mine.

"Great Winter Jacket"

I love this jacket! Warm (-45 C in Alberta near the Rockies) & cozy wearing it in strong wind gusts that we get coming off the Rockies in the Foothills. I have lots of other great winter coats but for style, warm, & appearance they can't hold a candle to it. I get nothing but rave comments from perfect strangers all the time! The ladies love it frankly! Lol!

"beautiful coat"

Coat was beautiful and well made as far as replicas go. Sizes are for men and still ran a bit smaller. The size chart in description was more on target than the link to a size chart. Overall a great coat!!

"Great Jacket...."

This is a great Jacket if you want the warmest Sheepskin Bomber Jacket out there. Very warm, windproof, OK to wear in moderate temps and like it better than other Goose Down jackets I have for winter wear.

"Excellent Jacket I would buy this again"

This jacket lives up to it's name. Very high quality, very warm and VERY sharp looking. I have to disagree with the other two reviews...this jacket is NOT supposed to be packed, not meant to be stylish, it's meant to be worn. I have wanted one of these since I was a kid, and 50 years later...I have one. Can't say enough good things about it. No wonder the B-17 & B-24 crews liked it so much. It's absolutely COOL.

"Beautifully Made in the U.S.A."

I am a female, a mom, who bought three of these jackets, one for myself,(you can't get womens jackets like this) and one for each of my two young adult sons. I don't know why someone would say they are not well made, ours are perfect! The zipper is heavy duty, strong. The leather is substantial. The shearling is thick and soft. The details are perfect. The pockets are large and sturdy, I LOVE the buckels on the collar and hips, I can flip up the collar and buckle it around my neck, SO warm! I hate being cold, and when I wear this up north in the winter, where the snow is waist deep, I am always warm and comfortable. We have had these jackets for a couple of years now, and there have been no problems, no complaints.
