Walking with a pot balanced atop her head, an African woman is the subject of this sculpture from Ghana. Samuel Owusu hand-carves this figure from sese wood, featuring an expressive form and abstract details. The artisan names this sculpture Obaapa, meaning "good woman" in the Akan language.

"WONDERFUL, AFRICAN SCULPTURE"
