In the past, the ancient Maya regarded the gem known as ya'ax chich (jade) a sacred symbol of life, fertility and power which they reserved for the aristocracy. In present day Guatemala, Zandra Lorena Sajbin shares the unique beauty of light green jade in handcrafted sterling silver earrings.

"Treasure"
I like the earrings a lot! It's like my favorite Mikimoto Pearl earrings in that these earrings are simple yet elegant even for everyday use. I truly appreciate the energy Zandra, the artist, have put on this. They're truly beautiful!

"Love these earrings"
I love these earrings. They DO make me think of Harmonious Peace. I can tell they are made of very good sterling silver, because my ears go crazy when Im not wearing good earrings. I DID lose the back of the earring, most likely my fault. Fortunately, my friend had a spare backing. I will come back to this artisan again. Thank you!

"Very fine!"
Excellent workmanship makes these earrings extremely satisfactory. The green of the jade was a little more dark than displayed in the photos, but that is not a disappointment.

"Stringy"
This necklace is composed of beautiful, colorful and delicately carved beads of jade, but the cord is thin and stringy, and the beads are smaller than they look in the photo and have little heft to keep the cord straight. Looks awkward.

Zandra lost her husband in 2017 and she is now the sole provider for her three children, Fabricio, Alejandro and Dulce. Through her jade jewelry art, she is able to support her children and increase their livelihood.

Zandra financially supports her three children's education and plans to send the three of them to university as well.
