The Bazan family has been weaving Zapotec-style rugs for many generations, dedicating themselves thoroughly to every step of the process. They purchase wool from a farmer near their home and dye it with natural dyes collected from native Mexican plants and the local marketplace. Depending on the size and intricacy of the design, a rug such as this one can take anywhere from a few days to several weeks of labor to complete. Woven in rich oranges, blues, yellows and greens, this design invokes Maya patterning native to the Teotitlán area and will surely be a striking piece of craftsmanship in your home.

The rug is amazing! It looks great. There is less red on it than on pictures. The colours are vibrant, looks like sunset. It is thick and can be used as a typical rug. I love it and I am really happy having it.

I bought this pillow cover to match my coffee table runner by the same artist. It really pulls the room together. I am so happy that they match!
