Artisans from the Angel Cerón Artisan Association craft an extraordinary ceramic vase, adorned with an image from the archaeological zone of Palenque. The stern ruler sits atop the kneeling bodies of conquered enemies. Located at the western limits of the Maya territory where the sun sets, Palenque is thought to have been a necropolis. Its harmonious architecture blends into the earth, making this one of the loveliest of all Maya ceremonial centers.
