Impressionist Painting of a Stream in the Woods from Ghana, "Stream in the Woods"

Wading through a stream in the middle of a forest, a group of women walk home with foodstuffs atop their heads, the woman in front shepherding a bicycle. Ghanaian artist John Atta Mensah paints this scene in the impressionist style, using dabs of the paintbrush to capture the lush greenery of the forest. Says the artist, "Most streams are normally in the forest areas where farmers walk through after a long day's work."
