Hibiscus Wood Buddhism Sculpture, "Buddha on a Lotus"
Arising unsullied from the muddy bottom of a lotus pond, a single blossom opens to hold Buddha. Three buds promise to bloom and leaves frame the reverent image from Eka. The Enlightened One sits in the lotus position, one hand raised in blessing. The details are spectacular, evidenced in the graceful flow of the master's robe and the delicacy of fingers and features.
Natural hibiscus wood varies greatly in its tonalities, therefore every sculpture will have an absolutely unique shading and grain.

"Beautiful and one of a kind"
I have enjoyed this piece for a few years now but sadly the hibiscus wood is very soft and can break easily. Initially the lotus leaves didn t stay put if the piece was moved slightly for dusting. I glue them to the base and all was fine until a recent move to another location when one of the leaves broke at the base. It s hard to glue it back on because there is no way to keep the pieces together under pressure. There is an unusually waxy feel to the feel that I have wondered about from the beginning.

"HIDDEN TREASURE"
Im very happy with my Buddha. The way of how was conception is fantastic, its enclosure many teaching of buddhism. And the type of work is magnificent! For me, is a hidden treasure! It reveals many significance!!! Congratulations Eka!!!
