Colorful stripes decorate this Guatemalan jewelry case, accented with amethyst purple. Representing a collective of indigenous women, the Yama Aj Chixot Artisan Group hand-weaves the bag from cotton on the foot pedal loom. It unrolls with a magnetic snap to reveal a fabric lattice for hanging bracelets and chains. The zipper opens to reveal a lined pouch, perfect for storing smaller jewelry pieces.

Your Purchase Makes a Difference!

The Women's Empowerment badge is awarded to female artisans or artisan groups that are led by women.

The association prides itself on protecting and preserving the very long-standing tradition of weaving using a floor loom. The women have all learned this technique from their mothers or grandmothers, and plan to teach their daughters as well.

Unfortunately many women in this area have been affected by miscarriages and the loss of newborns. This can cause a woman to go into a deep depression. Together they overcome these tragic events and provide constant support for one another.

Thanks to the work of these women, their children have the opportunity to study and have a better future. As an association, part of their income is donated to school infrastructure.

The association has been able to grow and increase their sales, which is then passed along to the women and their families.

This artisan group enables women to earn a fair income that helps them support their children.

This association generates employment for more than 125 women.

""Amethyst Berry" Striped Jewelry Case"

The colors on this are even better in person. Vibrant jewel tones that just pop. The feel of the weave is smooth and thick. It will not thin, nor rip easily. This bag is great for carrying essential oils. This is a thoughtfully designed and executed bag. I finally figured out that the two straps can also be used for securing it inside a pack! Extra care was taken in sewing an extra piece of material on top of the large magnetic button - otherwise the cumbersome size would be sticking out of the material, as well as wearing through it quickly. Makes a big difference in quality. Thank you for such care and detail, it will travel through many years and adventures.

I purchased these to give as a set, I liked them so much I bought the other color to give away and kept this set for myself. Well sewn and practical!
My wife loves the hand woven scarf I got her. Made by the ancient back weaving method the scarf is just a modern marvel of an age old process.

I bought my mother the ""Amethyst Twilight"" headband as a gift, and she loves it. She says it seems well-made, is comfortable, and the colors are beautiful. Thank you so much for making an item she was so happy to receive!
