Working in the style of Zapotec textiles, the Xi-Guia Family Workshop of Mexico crafts this wool cushion cover, woven entirely by hand on the floor loom. The cover features geometric spirals and stripes in earth-tone and blue hues, completed at the cotton back with a slit for inserting a cushion. Say the artisans, "These are modern designs that nonetheless conserve the basic technique of weaving on the traditional floor loom with Zapotec figures like the diamond and the greca, characteristics of the community of Teotitlán del Valle."
