Famous for its unique shape and delightful flavor, the Morchella was once considered a creation of playful demons that wandered the forests. Today, these charming mushrooms adorn the Balinese landscapes with their graceful color, inspiring artisan Yudi Suardi to capture their cute image in this nature-theme sculpture made from jempinis and benalu wood pieces. The artisan depicts a natural forest scene, polishing the elements for an enchanting look.

I visited Bali 40 years ago and a favorite memory is picking out a few hand carved statues which are still proudly displayed today. I am so glad to see the tradition continued in Bali. This is a gorgeous piece. Thank You!
