Floral Wood and Ceramic Retablo from Peru, "Flower Shop"
Working in the retablo tradition, Erika Ulloa creates this decor accessory that celebrates the floral culture of Peru. Composed from petite figurines that are crafted from ceramic and painted by hand, a flower seller arranges her wares within her shop, waiting for customers. The retablo is crafted from wood, featuring floral motifs in relief that are hand-painted and given and antique finish.

"This beautiful piece brings joy"
Lovely, absolutely lovely as always. I placed it on a small shelf on my wall so it would be enjoyed near a window, brightening up my breakfast area.

"A Gift befitting art collectors"
My sister and her husband are serious collectors. I gave this the retablo to them as a birthday present and they could not be more thrilled. The detail, color and design are unparalleled. I hope to gift them with another one in the future.

"Christ, the Prince of Peace"
With her usual consummate artistry and imagination, Erika Ulloa offers a prayer for peace in her depiction of the birth of the Christ Child changing soldiers from agents of war into bringers of aid and comfort. For me at least, this takes just another nativity scene in my collection to an instrument of contemplation and of motivation for working for social change. It is a true work of art, that changes the viewer.

"La Tunantada"
Erica Ulua brings both great imagination and great skill to her retablos. La Tunantada is the fourth of her lovely works that I have purchased. All have been been nativity scenes of one sort or another.

"Magnifico"
Erika Ulloa
