Cant wait to share with others
For past two years have hosted a Nativity Open House with depictions from many countries/cultures. I especially like the cultural reference of the hat shop below. Just as many of us learn the story of room made for the Holy Family in the animals shelter, this shows room made for the birth and adoration of Jesus where a family makes their livelihood.
I am impressed with the quality of this piece - the workmanship far exceeds my expectations. I have recommended this artist to a friend who collects nativity sets. The service from Novica was fast; the retablo was packaged well. I would be interested in seeing new pieces by Maria as they become available.

"It fills me with pride to know that my retablos will be going to different parts of the world where the culture is totally different… but just as beautiful as my own."

Romantic Wood and Ceramic Retablo from Peru, "Ask for Her Hand"
Crafted from wood and painted by hand with colorful floral motifs, this traditional from Peru is created by Julio Gallardo. Opening with brass hinges, the doors reveal an intricate composition that is diligently crafted from handmade ceramic. A skeleton proposes to his bride-to-be in the middle of a graveyard. A heart-shaped balloon reads (I love you) in Spanish, while tombstones carry other romantic messages.
