Handcrafted from supple leather, this handbag is designed by Farida Ridwan of Indonesia. A solid burnt orange color gives way to buff and black kawung floral and coffee bean motifs, a batik design historically reserved for royalty. The batik method involves applying a wax resist to the leather before it is painted by hand to feature the beautiful motifs. The artisan also employs the repousse technique, where both sides of the leather are worked simultaneously to give the motifs an embossed texture. The handbag opens at the top with a zipper to reveal a multicolored lining in cotton with beautiful truntum floral batik designs. Two open pockets and one zipper pocket are found inside the bag.
