Javanese artist Anton Papo uses pencil, ink and acrylic on canvas to create this captivating naif painting inspired by his obsession with elephants. "These majestic animals are destined to be captured in an artistic form," he says. "There are many different types with distinctive anatomical characteristics, and each country and continent has its own unique species. Elephants have been, and will always be an inspiration in art."

There's no doubt this is a high quality piece made by a talented artist. It's even more fabulous in person with the brush strokes and detail adding texture and pop. We are honored to have this in our home.

As an Animal Advocate and proud pet parent to many rescues. I believe a time will come when "old customs" in third world countries will be frowned upon and outlawed. This painting is very fitting for my heart and home. The colors are as "DARK" as the old custom's themselves! Anton Papo, thank you for the lovely work of art. Looking forward to seeing more of your paintings!
