Colorful Recycled Paper and Wood Dangle Earrings from Ghana, "Thinking of Home"
Handwoven from strips of recycled paper, two squares form a lovely pair of dangle earrings. Ghana's Akwele Suma crafts the earrings, adding petite beads of sese wood and recycled plastic to dangle from brass hooks.
The artist uses the paper at hand so paper colors will vary, making each design a unique example of handcrafted art. These beads receive a protective coat of clear nail polish.

"Sturdy earrings!"

These are delightful little bells. No ringer, but since they are on the ears, that is a plus! Very sturdy for paper.

I really like the colors used in these earrings -- they are study and subtle and go well with a number of different outfits. I love that they are handcrafted and lightweight, as well.
