Seguso Family artisans create this magnificent art glass centerpiece. Colorful stripes align along the narrow translucent oval. Its vivid elegance conjures the color of carnaval or a circus show. The Seguso family has lived in Murano, Italy since the 1300s. Mario Seguso moved to Brazil in the 1950s and his family carries on his masterful blown glass techniques.

The presence of air bubbles accentuates the nature of the traditional hand blown crafting process, making each piece unique.

Phoenicia Paperweight”

This paperweight is so unique, pretty, and very heavy. I am so glad I was able to buy it on sale! It is truly a heavy paperweight that can keep ones important papers flying about if one opens a door or a window and a breeeze comes in. Preserving Traditions

Mario Seguso, the patriarch of the Seguso Family, was born in 1929 in Venice, Italy to one of the oldest and most famous blown glass artisan families on the island of Murano. His ancestors have crafted art glass since 1300. In 1956, Mario created his own workshop in Brazil. He has passed on his knowledge to his sons, grandsons and the artisans working with him. He is proud to have many assistants and to have trained eight glass masters in his workshop.
