Working with a single piece of sese wood, Ghanaian artisan Ransford Bediako hand-carves this African mask, which is then treated with a black finish. A face with slanted eyes is depicted with a bird perched atop the head. This mask is named Se Men Su Nti, an Akan phrase that translates to "painful but not crying."

"Wonderful Piece!"
This Bediako mask is a great piece! The workmanship is excellent. I loved it as soon as I opened the package and love it even more hanging on my wall. Thank you, Ransford Bediako! I will think of you often when I see your piece in my home.
