Though beauty may mean different things to different cultures, there is no denying the aesthetic appeal of this original mask from Ghana's Theophilus Anum. Artisans carve the mask by hand from sese wood, including a dove on the mask's forehead. The round mask is then decorated with colorful paints, embossed aluminum and recycled glass beads. The artisan names his creation Ahoufe, which means "beauty" in the Akan tongue.
